中国农历二十四节气立春之日
北京冬奥会在国家体育场盛大开幕
时隔14年
再次在北京燃烧的熊熊圣火
融化而来的是满眼飞舞的雪花
立，是“开始”“发端”的涵义
春，是“温暖”“生长”的喻意
本是草木萌发 万紫千红的景象啊
却变成雪花绽放的洁白世界
这些飘飘洒洒的雪花
从流光溢彩的“中国门”中
奔跑而来
从缤纷绚丽的“中国窗”里
含笑而来
从花团锦簇的“中国结”上
曼舞而来
从憨态可掬的“虎头帽”间
踏歌而来
每一朵雪花
都在讲述一个动人的故事
朵朵雪花汇聚在冰雪五环下
凝结成冰清玉洁的一朵硕大雪花
像高高举起的神圣拳头
面对“更快 更高 更强—更团结”的旗帜
又激荡出“一起向未来”的豪迈宣言
等待春暖花开的季节
迎来了沸腾的雪花

Cheerful Snowflakes Light the Spring of the World

marks the Spring Beginning in the 24 Solar Terms Lunar Calendar.
The Beijing Winter Olympics grandly open at National Stadium.
Fourteen years later
again in Beijing burns sacred flame
with dancing snowflakes whirling brightly.
Li means beginning and germinating.
Chun symbolizes warming and growing.
Li Chun heralds spring beginning with grasses sprouting and flowers blooming,
but also a white world with snowflakes strewn.
Snowflakes flying in the sky
run out of the dazzling Chinese Gate
at a brisk pace
through the wondrous Chinese Window
with a merry smile
around the Chinese Knot
with elegant dancing steps
between Tiger Head Imitation Cap
with sonorous songs.
Every snowflake
tells a moving story
Drifts of snowflakes under the five interlocked ice and snow rings
become part of a giant snowflake,
just like a sacred fist holding high,
facing the banner of Faster, Higher, Stronger-Together,
echoing a clarion call for together for a shared future.
We look forward to a season with spring flowers blossoming
and cheerful snowflakes flying.
These joyful snowflakes
light the spring of the world.

用希腊语唱响《奥林匹克会歌》
天籁般的童声响彻天空
身着虎头图案服饰
脚穿虎头鞋
与虎年春节遥相呼应
两名年轻的火炬手
将手中的火炬
嵌入“白鸽”环绕的“大雪花”中
形成了不点火的主火炬
以“微火”取代熊熊燃烧的大火
留下了“此处无声胜有声”的经典瞬间
创造了奥运历史上点火仪式的奇迹
“中国风”扑面而来
“中国味”浓郁芬芳
“中国情”温暖四溢
“中国人”质朴纯真
古老与现代在这里激荡
文化和科技在这里融合
东方与西方在这里共生

and best wishes.
The start of 24 Solar Terms in Lunar Calendar,
The opening of the 24th Winter Olympic Game,
What a coincidence.
It is vividly presented on the stage of the countdown performance,
symbolizing the perfect match of China and the winter game in ice and snow.
The Chinese and English words of Spring Beginning high up in the sky
extend good tidings of spring
and sincere invitation.
A child trumpeter blows the song
titled My motherland and I.
The melodious rhythm touches the bottom of our hearts.
Role models from all walks of life and
representatives from 56 ethnic groups,
they all join hands to relay the five-star red flag
into the main hall,
holding high their love for the country.
A colossal ice cubic gradually breaks,
becoming five interlocked rings crystal clear.
Breaking ice means breaking estrangement,
a gesture of solidarity of people all over the world.
Children from deep mountains
make their debut on the wold stage,
singing Olympic Anthem in Greek.
Their lovely voices resound far into the sky.
Their clothes and shoes emblazoned with tiger heads
mark the Year of Tiger in Spring Festival.
Two young torch bearers
put their torches into the Grand Snowflake encircled by White Doves,
lighting the Olympic Cauldron with no fire in sight.
With no raging fire,
it is a highlight moment without fanfare,
a wonder in the history of Olympic torch-lighting ceremony.
Chinese Style is felt everywhere.
Chinese Flavor is popular far and near.
Chinese Friendship makes all feel at home.
Chinese People are warmhearted and sincere.
Here ancient and modern world mingle.
Culture integrates with science.
The east and west enjoy shared future.
